Even more poetry of 2026

As already mentioned in my previous poetry posts, after many many years, I've once again turned my hand to trying to craft poetry. This in a large part has been motivated by the various themes on BlueSky that mix poetry with photography. For example, #ImageAndVerse or #PaintByWords. Both encourage you to write your own poems matched with one of your own images. With that in mind here is are even more of my most recent attempts.

Love's Beauty Lost

Love's Beauty Lost

Love lies bleeding
On once hallowed ground
A place Where beauty
Can no longer be found

Where joy once ruled
It had long been their place
Now forsaken, forlorn
No longer theirs to face

Tired

Tired
Too tired to care;
Too lazy to want more.
Think I'll just lie here
And enjoy the rest.
It's for the best.

Upside Down Pain

When I originally started this poetry lark, I was using text above the images.

Those nights when sleep is gone
Ghosted
Heart-broken
No explanation for the silence
Sudden
Complete
Pain that tears and rips
Consuming
Loss
Turns your wold upside down
 

Bird On A Wire

Can't say that I'm very proud of this one. Oh well, the good with the bad.

I don't often rhyme
But today, it's time.
There's a wire overheard carrying news
Or perhaps sending shows to amuse
Up there on the wire there's a bird
I hope if I stand under, it doesn't do a ...
 

High On A Wire


High on a wire
Rainbow bird watches
Vibrant bird sits
Biding its time
Waiting for its mate.
