As already mentioned in my previous poetry posts, after many many years, I've once again turned my hand to trying to craft poetry. This in a large part has been motivated by the various themes on BlueSky that mix poetry with photography. For example, #ImageAndVerse or #PaintByWords. Both encourage you to write your own poems matched with one of your own images. With that in mind here is are even more of my most recent attempts.

Ascent

Ascent
To the highest point, we can climb.
Over rock and shale,
Bearing heat and hail,
Through forest and glade,
Under sunlight and shade.
Our hearts will pound,
Our breath run short.
But the scenes we will share—
Oh, the vistas we will behold!
The wide world whole,
With narrow visions expanded.
